Anonymous asked: I understand why someone who is like 18 would want to transition as fast as posible? But someone older, who already have build for themselves "a life", with relationships, job history, etc? If someone would prever not to loose everything they have, but still wants to transition, but isn't in a hurry? To do so with as little fuss as posible? Could one stretch it out? Our body are rebuild every 7-10 years anyway? Could one likewise take ~10 years to transition in a much more gradual process?
K: Sure, you can take as much time as you need/want to transition. There isn’t a specific time frame which you have to abide by. It’s a case of doing things when and how you feel most comfortable. For example, you could socially transition slowly and gradually informing people over a period of years and then start medically transitioning, if you so wish, in a few years time. You could also go on a lower dosage of hormones and then gradually up the dosage at a later date. It’s completely up to you how you wish to transition. Go at the pace you wish.
